Welcome back everyone! We can hardly believe that summer is over and school is now in session. First I would like to welcome our incoming Fourth grade families. The fourth grade class is really big this year and many of the fourth grade parents have already asked how to get involved at the school. As a matter of fact, many of those parents have joined our PTA Board for this year. It is always exciting when new people join the board because it gives us the opportunity to explore new ideas. We have already received many helpful ideas and are looking forward to a very successful year. Last year's board did a fabulous job and we would like to thank them for their hard work and dedication to MMS.

PTA held a welcome back luncheon for our teachers on August 6th. The teachers and staff were very appreciative of the lunch and showed their gratitude by joining PTA. It is wonderful to know that we have the support of our MMS teachers and staff.

We would like to extend a special thanks to all of our board members that have helped get this year off to such a successful start. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful group of people on our team and we look forward to working with you.

If you have not already completed the PTA packet that was sent home the first day of school please do so at your earliest convenience. This packet contains your membership application, school directory and volunteer information. Please support your school by joining your PTA, $2.75 of every $5.00 membership comes back to our school and the money is used to support the many programs we offer throughout the year. Anyone is eligible to join, parents, grandparents and children.

Lastly, we would like to encourage you to volunteer at MMS, we truly believe that your involvement at MMS is a huge part of what makes MMS so successful. There are many opportunities to help and you can stay informed on upcoming events by checking the MMS website and by reading our monthly newsletter. We hope to see all of you on August 28th for Open House and our first PTA General Meeting.
