PBS focus for November: Self-Discipline

 


Weekly Overview:

Reading:
1. We will continue reading the novel Number the Stars.
" Number the Stars Final Vocabulary Quiz and Test Friday, November 20th.
Vocabulary Review cards will be completed throughout the week. The sentences on the cards should be edited in preparation for the writing part of the quiz. Remember that I will be happy to help you edit your sentences in preparation for the next vocabulary quiz. The completed cards will be turned in for a grade on the day of the test.
2. December Book Project due Wednesday, December 9th. More information will come home this week.
3. We will continue our WWII ABC Power Point this week during computer lab.
4. The students will read AR books daily for 20 minutes and complete their Reading Response Journals.
5. Check the Homework Board for daily homework assignments and test schedule updates.
6. Review any vocabulary, review cards, review guides, workbook pages, and handouts NIGHTLY.

English:

1. We begin a new writing assignment this week incorporating the grammar skills we have reviewed so far.
2. We will be completing Oral Language activities daily.
3. Check the Homework Board for daily homework assignments and test schedule updates.

Spelling:

1. This week we will begin Unit 11: suffixes -ed, -ing.
" Unit 15 Multiple Choice Quiz Thursday (iLEAP format)
" Unit 15 Test Friday
2. Challenge Words and Assignments are given when an A+ is achieved on the Monday's Pre-Test.
If a student achieves three "A+" Pre-Tests in a row he or she will not have any Spelling Homework or Tests for the

Social Studies:
1. This week we will continue Chapter 3: Ancient Egypt.
