This month's PBS focus is the 4 components
of the Fish Philosophy, Choose your, Attitude, Make Their Day, Be There and Have
Fun.

THIS
WEEK:
Spelling:
ei/ie words. Students have the list of words. They are from the article "Science
for All: "Gecko, Roaches, Spiders". These words are difficult. Students
need to study every night! Class work and/or home work may be graded. Test Friday.
English:
We will review capitalization, punctuation, using context clues, and combining
sentences. Class work and/or home work may be graded. Unit test is Friday.
Reading:
We will read "Gecko Glue, Cockroach Scouts, and Spider Silk Bridges."
The skill we will work on is finding the Main Idea and Supporting Details. Test
Tues. on story and voc. This test will be open book for voc. and comprehension.
Our writing assignment for this week is writing/proofreading a friendly letter.
On Wed. we will begin reading "The Magic Gourd". Class work and/or home
work may be graded. We read AR books daily for at least 20 minutes. This is when
students are allowed to eat a nutritious snack.
Social Studies:
We have begun Chapter 1, Hunters and Gathers. We will discuss the Stone Age, early
farmers, and the development of cultures. Students will take an open book test
Wed. or Thursday.
