MESSAGE FROM THE TEACHER:

Family Fun Night is Thurs., March 11 from 6-8. Pizza and drinks will be sold from 6:00-6:30. The Book Fair will also be held this week.

Spring pictures/money is due Thursday the 11th.
Students do not have school on Friday.

We will begin DARE the week of the 15th.
Cookie dough sale ends on March 16th.

This month's Positive Behavior Support theme is Cooperation.

If your child will be out 2 or more days, please call the office for make-up work. Please allow 24 hours. Students have 2 days from the day they return to school to complete the work and turn it in. If a student is out of the class room for an extra activity such as Talented Art, band, etc., it is their responsibility to find out what they missed and get any handouts.


THIS WEEK:

Spelling: Unit 29 suffixes -ion, -tion, -ation. Class work and/or home work may be graded. Test Thursday.

English: We will continue Unit 11 Adverbs. Students are comparing with adverbs, avoiding double negatives, using commas, and reviewing prefixes. We will also continue to review skills such as synonyms/ antonyms, reading charts and graphs, capitalization, and punctuation. Class work and/or home work may be graded.

Reading: Students will continue to work with figurative language. We will continue our unit on Fairy Tales/ Myths. We are reading the novel "A Stranger Came Ashore." They will have a test Tues. or Wed. on chapters 5-6 story and voc. We will read creation myths and discuss what makes a hero in stories/myths. We read AR books daily for at least 20 minutes. This is when students are allowed to eat a nutritious snack.

Social Studies: We are completing our unit on Ancient Greece. Quiz Wed. on gods and goddess. Class work and/or home work may be graded.
