All of students are adjusting to fifth grade very nicely.

Overview and Test Folders - My overview goes home on
Mondays and can also be found on our MMS website. Test folders will go home on Thursdays and are due back the next day.

Please review tests and return only papers that have to be signed by you.

Math: Chapter 1 We will complete Place Value Thru Thousandths & Comparing & Ordering Decimals. Quiz on Friday.

Reading: Unit 1. "Ultimate Field Trip" We are back using the text book. Study vocabulary words and read stories at home. Read each night for 15 min. Study vocabulary. Vocabulary test and Cold Comprehension Test on Friday.
SSR (Silent Sustained Reading) will be done in class for 20 min. daily. AR point goals will be assigned.

Language - Compound Sentences. Worksheet practice. Quiz on Friday. Daily Oral Language (Correcting sentences)

Spelling - Unit 4. Test on Friday. Unit words and challenge words will be called out for each test. Four (4) Spelling Choices are due on or before Friday.

Social Studies - Mrs. Kyle - Map Skills - Latitude & Longitude - be ready for daily grades; Vocab. Test on Tuesday on these terms: Prime Meridian, symbols, globe longitude, latitude, map key or intermediate directions, scale.
Daily Geo. #2 in class (Homework if not finished). We will also begin in textbook on ancient peoples of North America

Science - Atoms Family- We will begin our study of Matter with the Atoms Family. Atoms Family Song, Brain Pop and worksheets. Graded Activity this week.
