4-H is collecting school supplies for a St. Helena high school that burned to the ground a few weeks ago. If you would like to donate any supplies, it would be greatly appreciated.

Please sign and return the weekly Progress Reports. These go home every week and let
you know how your child is doing.

This Week at a Glance:
Proposed schedule:
Math- We'll be making a new set of fraction strips to use in Investigation 2. In this investigation we'll find equivalent fractions and compare fractions to benchmark numbers. We'll have a quiz on equivalent fractions on Thursday.

Science- We'll start a new unit on energy. We'll start with kinetic and potential energy and move on to the transfer of heat energy in the processes of convection, conduction and radiation.

Social Studies- We'll continue our unit on ancient China. We'll work on the second lesson by which involves China's past. We'll analyze different dynasties and learn about the many inventions that the Chinese have offered to society.

Positive Behavior Lesson (Friday@ 1:26) We'll take a look at examples of excuses that people make for not taking responsibility for their actions. We will then generate ideas as to how to turn these excuses into ways of taking responsibility for both the problem and the solution. (We didn't get to this last week due to 2 assemblies.)
