This Week at a Glance:

Science- We'll continue in Chapter 1 of Unit E on the Periodic Table. Well use a periodic table with electron levels to study the structure of various elements and identify elements by the number of electron in each shell. We will also learn to calculate the number of neutrons in an atom so we can make an atom model with the correct number of each subatomic particle. Classwork may be graded and the atom model will also be graded.

Math-We will use a 100 chart to find factors for numbers 1-100 by using the Sieve of Eratosthenes. We will sift out prime numbers to leave the prime numbers to 100. We will still be working in the Prime Time book working the ACE questions following the lessons. Practice # 2 sheets will be given for homework. A test will be given next week on the Practice problems. A notebook check will happen this wee. Be sure that your reference notebook is complete as this is graded.

Social Studies- We'll begin continue in the first chapter. We'll be working on Lesson 3 called Developing Cultures. Students will take notes on important concepts on Wednesday and should be ready for a test on Friday. Study the vocabulary for all 3 lessons nightly and the notes given on Wednesday and Thursday nights for the test on Friday.
